 If you have multiple Instant Messaging accounts, like I do, may I recommend a great program called Trillian. Trillian works excellent! No they're not paying me to brag about their cool program, I just totally think it is that cool (geesh, I sound like a valley girl). With Trillian you can access all major IM programs (AOL, ICQ, MSN/Windows Messenger, IRC, & Yahoo Messenger... and very soon MySpace too) through one convenient interfacing program! The layout looks similar to the other popular programs like ICQ and Windows Messenger (allbeit with a few less features), but with Trillian you can control them all in one place. For example, if you have a friend that uses Yahoo Messenger and another that uses ICQ and thirteen other friends that use MSN and five on AOL, you can see when each of them are online and message them or send files back and forth using just one program! Trillian is completely FREE of charge and contains no annoying banner ads or spyware and is quite easy to set up and use! You can also download "skins" to give the program a whole new look or you can purchase their pro version (as I have), which gets you free updates for a year, technical support and extra features. Very cool! Very stable! I use this to keep track of all my IM accounts, in fact you can message me at any of the accounts listed above and I will be able to chat with you (although my day job prohibits me from the time to be on as much as I'd like). The Trillian program can be downloaded by CLICKING HERE. Besides Trillian, my IM of choice is Windows Messenger (aka MSN Messenger).

There are currently two chat rooms I use; both are affiliated with this website. I used to recommend MSN Chat, however, that service was discontinued since the enhancement of the Windows Messenger program. You can join free chats anytime at the following websites:
